Softwood decking

Kiwi’s love treated pine. Its good quality, nice-looking, and comes with an affordable price tag. But, being a soft wood, it is prone to split. With time, pine’s naturally yellow appearance fades to a soft silver. However, you can always stain it darker or paint it a different colour. All of our decks are built with premium grade pine, which has less knots making it more durable than merch. Choose from the wide 140mm board, or the 90mm board width.

Hardwood decking

Its durability makes hardwood a solid choice to build with. It’s less vulnerable to dents and scratches than softwood, and easier to maintain. Hardwoods have an elegant finish, looking more like indoor flooring than an external timber. We have three types of hardwoods to choose from: Kwila, Vitex and Eucalyptus – all approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council for sustainability. Kwila stands out with its deep-red shade. While Vitex has a light golden appearance which resembles pine. Eucalyptus starts off a soft pink colour, silvering off quickly.

Composite decking

Environmentally friendly, made from recycled and sustainable materials, composite decking is a man-made substitute for hardwood timber products. With composite, you won’t have to worry about dents, splits, moisture, or mites – it’s resistant to all! It does come with a higher price tag than traditional wood, but that’s because it lasts longer and requires less upkeep. So you’ll get a good return on your investment.

PVC vinyl

PVC vinyl is ideal for waterproofing decks over living spaces. You can use vinyl under floating timber decks, to fix a leaky roof deck, to create shelter underneath a deck, and for apartment balconies. PVC is tough, it stands up to NZ’s weather conditions, and is backed by 15 year warranty. Unlike wood, you won’t be burdened by cracks and splinters. Plus, you will spend less time on upkeep and more time enjoying your deck – PVC vinyl only needs an occasional rinse.

What our customers say

“Mark provided us a very competitive quote and we used the design specialist they put us onto for our deck. The builder Aaron was very efficient and thorough during the construction. He kept the site very tidy and his communication to us at each stage kept us well informed. The decking timber used was not what we had in mind but was far superior in the end, ask for Abodo Elements decking! Along with that and the solid construction we have a wonderful outdoor living area. Thank you Ezydeck!” – Gavin, No Cowboys review
